This picture was most likely taken in 1970, when my Digital Host, David, was one or two years old. It was probably located on Park Avenue at or near the corner of Fairmount, although we are not certain of that. Let's just say it was located in the Plateau Mont Royale area. It was called Fairmount Pool Room. As you can see underneath the name is the description saying Snack Bar. We would guess that you went to play billiards and had a Snack or perhaps a meal. You probably go there to have your Hamburger or Cheeseburger, Hot Dog, Fries and a Drink. Whether you had Coke, Pepsi, Sprite or 7UP is up to you. Perhaps you just wanted a bag of Chips that was cool too. We could be wrong BUT we have a feeling that they also served Souvlaki there as well since there are Greek Letters on the window. The cliental that you see in front of the shop look very Greek. Maybe there is an Armenian over there too. At any rate, this is a classical picture of what Montreal used to look like back then.
